Spoiled Rotten
There’s a difference between a favorite and a lock. When up against a team with playoff-level talent, it’s rare that the team with the better record ever appears in the second category.

A few tweaks in the latest 2009 NFL Mock Draft.

Several juniors that were purposely left out of the last edition are now included. This also features no commentary, which has been sacrificed due to time constraints.

If you want more detailed explanation, check out the
NFL Draft board here on RealGM. The draft order is not consistent from Round 1 to Round 2, and that is deliberate; your guess as to draft ordination between spots 8 and 24 is as good as mine at this point of the season.

Just some generalities to keep in mind:
-- this represents my best guesstimation as to what the teams would do if presented with the situation. Please do not mistake this as a representation of what decisions I would make if it were up to me.

-- this particular mock reflects my opinion that the "run on tackles" that happened last year won’t be as extreme. I also believe (today anyway!) that just as the wide receiver crop unexpectedly fell last year, the RB class falls this year.

-- the tight end position has been chronically overdrafted and overvalued, and I strongly believe this year sees a market correction. Keep in mind that in the last 10 years, teams with initially-named (not injury replacement) Pro Bowl tight ends have won exactly five playoff games, two by Shannon Sharpe with the 2000 Ravens and none since Alge Crumpler won a game with the 2004 Falcons. Trust me, many NFL general managers are acutely aware of that.
